After 7 months in kidnappers’ den, Zamfara students, staff regain freedom

Some students and staff of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State have been released after spending seven months in their kidnappers’ den.

It was gathered that the students and staff of the institution were kidnapped sometime in February 2024 following an attack by kidnappers in the area.

Confiming their release, Zagazola Makama, a security analyst posted in X, “Abducted students of Federal University Gusau and staff regain freedom.”

Makama, however, said that the circumstances surrounding the victims’ release are still unclear.

He also confirmed that security operatives in the area played crucial roles in ensuring the release of the kidnapped victims.

He said, “After spending an extended period in captivity, it has been confirmed that all the abducted individuals have returned in good health.”
