The deceased was said to be on an emergency call and was racing towards a location when he ran under the truck.

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who confirmed the incident, said the Agency got information of the incident around 1.47am.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the response team arrived at the scene around 2am and discovered that it involved an ambulance vehicle with registration number JBD-405HA and an unmarked articulated truck.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the articulated truck was hit on the side while on motion, which led to loss of control by the truck driver and he swerved into another lane.
