BREAKING: APGA threatens to suspend Governor Soludo, gives reasons

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)has threatened to suspend the governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo over allegations of anti-party activities.

The threat was issued by the National Working Committee of the party led by Edozie Njoku on Wednesday, September 25.

Speaking at a media conference in Abuja, APGA’s national chairman, Edozie Njoku accused the governor of obstructing efforts by the Supreme Court-recognised NWC to restore harmony within the party.

Edozie said the party’s NWC would on Thursday release the names of Soludo and all other members involved in anti-party activities.

He said, “The local government elections are going to take place in Anambra on the 28th but what we should understand about this is that Charles Soludo, the governor, I don’t know, he should know that it’s a political system he’s not an emperor.”

“He (Soludo) has gone forward to get the House of Assembly to adopt, to make a law whereby the party cannot field their candidates,” Njoku said.

He added that the governor and his cohorts went ahead to field their preferred candidate behind the party.

“They are pushing us far to the limit, and they are believing that the governor of Anambra State is bigger than the party.

Noting that individual is bigger than the party, Njoku said the NWC, must take action so that we don’t look like toothless Bulldogs.

“This is a political party, and APGA is here to stay,” he added.
