All is now set for the twentieth anniversary celebration of Dominion Schools located at No 1 Inyang Ukidem Street, Ikot Okudom, Okon Eket. The epoch making ceremony is slated for Friday, the 20th day of September, 2024 at the School Auditorium by 11.00 am prompt.
Speaking to the press , the Lady Proprietor, Deaconess Esther Ekotumoh maintained that all hands have been put on deck to ensure a hitch free and memorable occasion.
While announcing series of activities lined up for the celebration, she further described the school period of existence as two decades of academic excellence and God’s faithfulness. Over the course of two decades, the highly reputed school has garnered an outstanding reputation by offering pertinent curricula, skilled teachers, and the facilities required to instruct and mentor pupils and students towards admission to global renowned universities.
She called on schools in the country to integrate skills and diversity into their curriculum, to boost students’ academic strength. The educationist
explained that diversity and skills inclusion are important aspects that all schools must pay attention to, as they go a long way in boosting children’s academic strength and ensuring that they are globally competitive.
She said another key ingredient is empathy, which she described as the foundation of human skills in problem solving and communication.
“Nowadays, everybody is taking about skills and we need to encourage students to look at that area. In Dominion International Schools, we have project-based learning as part of our curriculum and the students are doing brilliantly. They have come up with projects that are laudable that they can use to support themselves and give back to their various communities. This is one thing schools must introduce and also encourage skills,” she stated
The soft spoken amazon expressed delight about the citadel of learning’s accomplishments in the last twenty years. She highlighted some of its achievements including, consistent excellent results in NECO, SSCE and other allied examinations.

Other programmes to commemorate the 20th anniversary include various presentation by the pupils and students, inauguration of a school project, as well as freewill donations from public spirited individuals and philanthropists for the school’s continued growth.
