EFCC arrests 28 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Benin 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a total of 28 suspected internet fraudsters in Akwa Ibom and Edo states.

The spokesman for EFCC, Dele Oyewale, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Oyewale said they were arrested at different locations on October 7, in a sting operation following credible intelligence on their fraudulent internet activities.

He explained that 13 of the suspects were arrested in the Nwaniba area of Uyo, Akwa Ibom, while 15 were arrested in Benin City, Edo.

According to him, items recovered from suspects from Akwa Ibom included two Lexus 350 saloon cars and Toyota Camry V6 car

Others include a Toyota Corolla car, six laptop computers and 20 smartphones.

He said that items recovered from the suspects from Benin included four exotic cars, laptops and phones.

He further stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
