EKET CARETAKER COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN PLEDGES LOYALTY TO GOV UMO ENO, ORS

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Eket Local Government Council, Mrs. Comfort Emmanuel has vowed to support the ARISE AGENDA of Governor Umo Eno and to promote inclusive governance.

Mrs Emmanuel made the pledge during a courtesy visit by former Eket Legislative Council, Class of 2008/2011 at her office in Eket Local Government Council secretariat, to felicitate with her in her new political upliftment as Caretaker Committee Chairman.

The Caretaker Chairman also restated her loyalty to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pst. Umo Eno, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, and Member representing Eket State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Nsidibe Akata PhD.

She thanked her immediate boss, Mr Akaniyene Tommey who stepped aside to contest for the position of the Chairman under the platform of PDP in Eket LGA, and for finding her worthy to occupy the number one seat in Eket LGA, promising total loyalty to her boss and the party.

Addressing the former legislatures during the courtesy visit, she said her political upliftment to serve as the Caretaker Committee Chairman will midwife and supervise the local government election of new leadership of the council within the next few days, stressing her commitment towards ensuring PDP victory at the polls.

The Eket Caretaker Committee Chairman, equally commended Governor Umo Eno for his leadership style by giving the women enabling environment to serve in his administration. She further pledged her support for Mr. Akaniyene Tommey’s chairmanship ambition and also to all PDP Councilorship candidates in Eket LGA, enjoining members of the party to support the Caretaker Committee to achieve his goals.

She also promised to work closely with her immediate boss to improve the well-being of Eket people and unite key political stakeholders.

The Class of 2008/2011 Eket Legislative Council forum in their different remarks, promised to give the Caretaker Committee Chairman the needed support to enable her succeed in her new assignments.

Speaking on behalf of the Former Council legislatives, Hon. Monday Akpan Umoh thanked Eket leadership for finding Rt Hon. Comfort Emmanuel fit for the position and assured that she will justify the confidence reposed on her.

Furthermore, they prayed for her protection and success to carry out the responsibilities of Eket Local Government Council in her short term in office.

Highlights of the meeting was the reaffirmation of the solid confidence in the leadership of Governor Umo Eno, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon Frank Archibong, the state House member, Hon. Nsidibe Akata PhD and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP led by Hon. Uso Hanson for the overall interest of the party.

At the meeting, the former Legislatures passed a vote of confidence on Governor Umo Eno second term bid come 2027.
