Sir Emma Otti, the sacked Acting Chairman of the Labour Party SWC claim of impersonation and extortion as the reason for the disruption and intimidation of the LP meeting at Enitona hotel in Aba and the embarrassment and arrest of the Party leaders including the National Vice chairman of the Labour Party south east, Hon Ceekay Igara is myopic and unintelligent as he have no such locus to challenge his removal.
The NWC that appointed Sir Emma Otti is the same that removed him. His appointment isn’t in perpetuity (has no time frame).
According to the letter of appointment of the new SWC by Abure led NWC seen by Trustbase News, the NWC state that the party constitution, Article 13.3.B.Vi, gave the provision for the same NWC to also dissolve and constitute SWC/ SEC pending the next Congress.
“So of what grounds do the dissolved Former Acting State Chairman, who never went for a Congress have to claim for an impersonation against a legitimate constituted committee by the NWC” ?. LP member who chose to be unanimous asked.
His purported restraining order from the Abia State court is a cry of a drowning man and Dr Alex Otti’s purported involvement in the harassment and intimidation of the NWC and the Abia State LG election committee appointed by Abure is an abuse of executive power and rascality.
Hon Igara, in a chart with Journalists on Sunday maintained that the essence of his committee is to provide a level playing grounds in accordance to the constitution of the Party for every member of the party to be accommodated in the party LG election primaries.
But unfortunately, those who chose to impose candidates feel they can achieve their selfish interests by intimidating and blackmailing their committee members by the use of force and propaganda.
Those Police officers who came for the illegal disruption and intimidation of the Party members needs to be brought to book as the letters of the appointments of these committee members have already been submitted to the security agencies including the Police and INEC.
The recent involvement of Abia State Police and the purported order from above which many believed also is the Abia State Governor His Excellency Dr Alex Otti may bring an anarchy in the State as issues in the LP are internal matters. Using the state’s might in party’s internal crisis is an executive rascality.
