In line with its excellent performance record in past National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercises, Gregory University Uturu has once again demonstrated outstanding results in a recent evaluation and re-evaluation of several courses conducted by the regulatory agency.

In a letter to the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, the NUC, through its Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, conveyed the results of the accreditation exercise conducted on 16 courses between October and November 2023.

According to the letter, 13 out of the 16 programmes assessed received commendable ratings of ‘accredited’ and ‘full accreditation,’ while the remaining three, which had just matured for evaluation, were accorded ‘interim’ accreditation.

Some of the courses that received full accreditation status include Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Geology, Anatomy, Physiotherapy, Radiography and Radiation Sciences, Education Mathematics, Education Biology, Education Chemistry, French Language, and History and International Studies.

Furthermore, the letter stated that M.Sc. Accounting and M.Sc. Business Administration received accreditation, while Architecture, Pharm D, and Optometry, which were being evaluated for the first time, conventionally received interim accreditation ratings.

Reacting to the outcome of the assessment exercise, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof. Celestina Njoku, lauded the NUC for a job well done and pledged the institution’s preparedness to sustain a healthy, mutually beneficial relationship with the regulatory agency.

Reaffirming the institution’s commitment to high standards and quality assurance, Prof. Njoku appreciated the staff and students of the university for their dedication to academic excellence.
