How 159 People Died In Abuja Road Accidents – FRSC


The Federal Road Safety Corps has said that a total of 159 people have died while 1572 were injured in 859 road accidents in Abuja between January and November 19th this year.

The sector commander of the agency, Oga Ochi revealed this at the 2021 Special Marshal Sectorial Workshop in Abuja.

He stated that the reasons for such high numbers were the refusal to adhere to traffic laws and lack of patience amongst road users, while also maintaining that if the situation was not addressed it could affect the economic growth of the state.

He said: “This trend, if not quickly addressed and reversed, could constitute a major impediment to the economic growth of FCT.”

Meanwhile, the death has been announced of veteran Nollywood Yoruba comic actor, Baba Suwe whose real name is Babatunde Omidina.

The shocking news of his death was announced on Monday by his son, Adesola Morenikeji Omidina, who posted it via his official Instagram page, @omo_omidina.

Though the cause of his sudden death wasn’t disclosed, Baba Suwe was believed to have been battling illness for a long time before his demise.

His son said other details will be made available later.

Actress Modupe Johnson otherwise known as Fali Werepe also confirmed it on her Instagram page.
