Livestock Ministry: How we plan to achieve grace from grass – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the newly established Livestock Development Ministry has the capacity to achieve “grace from Grass.”

President Tinubu said this at the ongoing two day Stakeholders’ Consultative Workshop on Livestock Reforms in Nigeria taking place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing the over 350 stakeholders in the livestock industry invited to the workshop, the President said foreign investors were already asking questions on how they can tap from the opportunities abound in the sector, adding that “the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation committee and I will do everything possible to attract them”.

The President said, “Our shared mission is clear , we aim to transform the livestock from its current subsistence model into a thriving commercialise industry like other developing world. Yes we can do it, we can bring prosperity to our people .We can feed our children. From grass we can achieve grace”.

The President said the workshop is dedicated to one of the most critical aspects of the country’s development and noted that the livestock sector is a very important sector. “We are going to give it all it needs to bring value to our country.

“Stakeholders, I stand here assuring you that you will not regret the collaboration and the investment coming into this sector.”

The President who promised an enabling environment, added, “We will create the environment where the business will thrive. It is our duty to our children and future generations to get this right. Let’s unite in our effort. From reform to realisation of our dream I stand before you fully committed to this.”
