Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has commissioned the 10.519 kilometre Mkpat Enin-Ikot Ubo-Ikot Ntot-Nkikara Road linking Mkpat Enin and Ikot Abasi Local Government Areas.
At the ceremony today, Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude to the people of Mkpat Enin for their unwavering support to his administration.
He promised to fulfil commitments made by his departed wife, Pastor Patience Umo, a proud of Mkpat Enin and acknowledged previous administration for initiating the project.
The Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang while welcoming the Governor described the road as a testament to Governor Umo Eno’s commitment towards rural development, expressing confidence that the road will ameliorate the suffering of the people and boost socioeconomic activities of the area.
The chairman mentioned ongoing projects, such as the 42 km Mkpat Enin-Ikot Akpaden Road and the upgrade of Ukam Market, expressing appreciation to the Governor’s love for the development of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.
Member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uwem Imoh-Ita, Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga, Paramount Ruler of Mkpat Enin, Edidem Akpan Akpan Ekpene and a woman leader, Mrs. Idara Ephraim Akpan among other stakeholders thanked Governor Umo Eno for fulfilling his promise to complete projects initiated by previous administrations.
