The Essien Udim PDP Chairmanship Candidate in the October 5, 2024 Local Government Election, Engr Enobong Patrick on Tuesday hosted his supporters to a ‘Thank You’ meeting at the residence of the Political Leader of Essien Udim, Chief M.A. Afangideh, OON, where he thanked them for their love, support and solidarity all through the Campaigns and election, declaring that despite the outcome, his faith in God, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and the PDP remains unshaken.
He explained that though the outcome has given a lot of his supporters concerns due to crisis of expectation, he however urged all within the Essien Udim PDP family to remain calm, firm and peaceful, submitting that power belongs to God and He gives to whomsoever He pleases.
“God have His reasons. No one can change God’s handwriting. The outcome of Saturday’s election in Essien Udim is the will of God. But let me assure all of us that PDP is very strong in Essien Udim. PDP is Supreme and PDP remains the ruling party in Akwa Ibom State”.
“I may not be the Chairman but His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno won’t deny me access. He won’t forsake us. Whatever are the rights and privileges of Essien Udim people will still come to us and Governor Umo Eno won’t abandon us”, he said.
Engr Patrick also thanked the women for their prayers and support and specifically thanked the youths for maintaining the peace, noting with delight that the peaceful disposition of Essien Udim Youths is a demonstration of their love, respect and confidence on him, the party and the Governor and assured that they will be carried along in the scheme of things by the Umo Eno led government.
Goodwill messages were received by the DG EnoAbasi Campaign Organisation, Hon. Barr Martins Umanah, Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II and the PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon Polycarp Umoh.
