OUTPOURING OF GRATITUDE AS GOVERNOR UMO ENO COMMISSIONS PROJECTS IN URUEOFFONG/ORUKO

~Rt. Hon Uno Etim Uno reaffirms the support of Urueoffong/Oruko people for the Governor

There were jubilations and outpouring of gratitude as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, Monday commissioned the 2.9km Urueoffong-Ukuko Utuku- Ibotong Enweme Road and a Compassionate Home at Eyulor.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator (Dr) Akon Eyakenyi, the Governor said the projects commissioned in Urueoffong/Oruko were the first set of projects earmarked for the Local Government Area, promising to commission more projects for the benefit of the people.

“This is only the first road project. More will come. Oruko junction to Eyubiasang beach road is in the plan of government. Other projects are already in various stages of completion.

“We will return to commission more projects in Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Area” he added

Urueoffong/Oruko people of all strata led by their indefatigable Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon (Chief) Uno Etim Uno turned up in their number to receive the Governor.

In his welcome address, the visibly elated Chief Uno thanked Pastor Umo Eno for being the first Governor to commission a road project in the Local Government Area and pledged the continued support of Urueoffong/Oruko people for the administration.

He appealed to the Governor to make good his promise to construct the Oruko-Eyubiasang Beach Road.

“Your Excellency, Urueoffong/Oruko people are very grateful for the first State Government road project in the Local Government. I am particularly happy because this road was awarded when I was with you in the State Exco, and commissioned now that I am the Chairman.

“On behalf of my people, I thank you for wiping tears from the communities of Urueoffong, Ukuko Utuku and Ibotong, linking them with access road to the market and enhancing the value of their agricultural produce.

“Our dear Governor, my people ask me to remind you that during the 2023 governorship campaigns, you promised to construct the Oruko Junction-Eyubiasang Beach Road, and that they are anxiously waiting for the commissioning of that road because they know that you are a promise keeper.

“Urueoffong/ Oruko Local Government Area was the first to endorse you as the consensus candidate of the PDP, because we believe in your capacity.

“Today, Urueoffong/Oruko people are again the first to say that our support for your re-election is total and unconditional. Your second tenure is a done deal as far as we are concerned.” He submitted.

In their goodwill messages, pioneer Chairman, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Esio Oquong Udoh, wife of the former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief (Mrs) Atim Okpoyo, the Paramount Ruler, HRM Offong E. M. Unanaowo and a youth leader, Comrade Charles Emene, praised the Governor for creating history and impacting the lives of the people of the Local Government Area.
