“Stop behaving like an errand boy to Kwankwaso” – Group tells Kano governor

The rumoured political disagreement between Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano and his godfather, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has taken a new turn.

Reports say the disagreement was due to the governor’s recent stance he would rather have a one-to-one discussion with Kwankwaso rather than act on his ‘orders’.

Kwankwaso had reportedly ordered the governor to sack certain Kano state government officials “for disrespecting the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).”

This prompted a group known as “Abba Tsaya Da Kafarka,” meaning, ”Abba,Wake Up And Assert Yourself” to emerge in support of Governor Yusuf.

According to sources close to the group, it has become important for Yusuf to stop behaving like an errand boy.

The source said the group believed that Kwankwaso hand-picked most of the government’s political office holders, including the commissioners.

Meanwhile, members of the National Assembly on the platform of the NNPP recently met with Yusuf and urged him to assert his independence.
