Top Northern governor’s spokesperson loses 15-year-old son

Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the spokesperson to the governor of Kano State, has lost his 15-year-old son.

Sadiq Modibbo Bature was said to have died after undergoing surgery in India.

The teenager was confirmed dead after the surgery which took place on Thursday,  October 24.

It was gathered that the Sadiq until his passing suffered excruciating pains from sick cell anemia from birth.

Bature while announcing the death said, Sadiq, his first son died from post-surgery complications.

In a post made on his social media page, the governor’s aide said, “This morning, I lost my first child Sadiq (Modibbo) Bature at age of 15. He lived as a good, brilliant and obedient child.

“Throughout his life, Modibbo has suffered from sickle cell anaemia which he undergone a successful bone marrow transplant this month in an Indian hospital. Unfortunately, he died as a result of a post-surgery complications in his brain.

“The body of our beloved Saddiku would be brought back home in few days for burial in according with Islamic rites in my home town, Dawakin-Tofa. Date and time would be annouced on arrival of his remains,” Bature posted.
