as Akan Tommey consults CAN Eket Branch

The confidence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win the October 5, Local Government Elections was raised high during the party’s campaign Ward Tour in Okon Ward 1,2,3 and Urban 1.

The people demonstrated their acceptability of the party’s Chairmanship Candidate and Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Akaniyene Tommey and Mrs. Inyang Akpawan, pledging to vote massively during the elections.

Campaign Spokesperson Chief A. S. Idim, while introducing the Chairmanship Candidate, described him in his numerous achievements in the past 3 years; Christmas Village, Eket City Hall, Agro-entrepreneur and constructions.

The Chapter Chairman, Hon. Uso Hanson while presenting the Chairmanship Candidate in Okon Ward 1 noted that,

“in line with ARISE AGENDA of Governor Umo Eno, Mr. Akaniyene Tommey has done exceedingly well in terms of Agriculture, in his past administration he has developed hectares of land in Effoi to provide food sufficiency and improve the economy of our local government area”.

The Political Leader of Okon 2, the House of Assembly Member, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, who spoke said that,

“This is a cradle of politics in Eket LGA, i can assure you that everything is in order in the Ward. We are going to vote massively and decisively for Akaniyene Tommey and the Councilorship candidate”.

In Urban 1 the Former House of Assembly Member, Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, made a bet to win the highest number of votes for Akaninyene Tommey.

Earlier the Chairmanship Candidate consulted the Christian Association of Nigeria Eket Branch seeking for their prayers and support in the forthcoming election.

The Chairmanship Candidate also assured to partner with the association in building morals and reorientation in the society which is a strategic way to address social security issues.

Tommey who promised to appoint a Special Assistant to the Chairman on Religious Matters explained that, “this will foster his relationship with the association, and other welfare initiatives will be considered”.

The Association prayed for Akaniyene Tommey’s success in the election and his team, while projecting his administration to be peaceful and godly on the hindsight benefits of his past 3 years.
