This is to inform Honourable Members, constituents, friends, family members, associates and well-wishers of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D that the Speaker appreciates them for their felicitations ahead of his birthday, which comes up on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
However, the Speaker wishes to kindly request that those planning to place congratulatory adverts on the pages of newspapers, TV stations or any other paid platform(s) for his birthday should refrain from doing so, in view of the current situation in the country and in line with prudent management of the meager resources at our disposal.
Also, those planning to buy gifts, organize receptions or any form of event to celebrate Mr. Speaker’s birthday are also requested to refrain from such. Rather, funds meant for all the above should be properly channelled for charity.
