Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna State on Monday, arrested an Army officer and six officials of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), for alleged internet fraud.
The suspects were arrested and detained at the state zonal command’s office, however, on Friday, their colleagues stormed the EFCC’s office located at Number 4, Wurno Road in the Kaduna State capital in about three Hilux patrol vans and surrounded the main gate of the anti-graft commission office thereby preventing the EFCC officials from going in or out of your offices.
The Air Force soldiers and policemen attached to the EFCC engaged one other in a shouting match with the two federal security agencies pointing their guns at each other.
Reacting in a statement, the EFCC explained that they arrested five suspects at a residential Inn and Disney Chicken Eatery, Barnawa, Kaduna following credible intelligence about their alleged internet- related fraud activities.
The EFCC said, after the operation, six military personnel who witnessed the operation at Disney Chicken Eatery, stormed their Kaduna Command and attempted to forcibly release the arrested fraud suspects, they were however subdued and detained over the security breach.
