Emir of Kano’s visit will promote unity in Nigerian polity – Oku Ibom Ibibio

The President General of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, Nntenyin Dr. Solomon Etuk JP, CFR has said that the Emir of Kano’s visit to Akwa Ibom State will promote unity in Nigerian polity.

He expressed confidence that the visit of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR to the state will strengthen the bond of love and unity between Akwa Ibom State and the Northern brothers.

The elated Akwa Ibom Monarch who received the flag bearer of the Emirate Council and his entourage in his Palace on Wednesday described the visit as a royal visit and assured that the Emir’ s visit will not be taken for granted.

The Oku Ibom Ibibio who has just been elevated as the President General of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, the highest traditional stool in the land described the visit as a sign of good working relationship between the two states.

He further believed that the relationship will be beneficial to the economy of both states, stressing that in no distance time, Akwa Ibom citizens will begin to reap what he described as mutual benefits of the visit.

Ntennyin Etuk who was flanged by other royal fathers in the State, also assured the visitors that he will visit the Emir in Kano to further deepen the relationship.

He maintained that as the President General of the Traditional Rulers in the State, he will use his wealth of experience and relationship in National Traditional Rulers Council to attract developments as well as ensuring peace and unity in the State and the South South general.

He further promised continue to work for the optimal peace and growth of the state, saying that his intention is to help build the state and also ensure that there is total oneness among royal fathers and the citizenry at large.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano who is the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano from the Fulani Sullubawa Clan, Alhaji Bayero said he was happy with the warm reception he received from Akwa Ibom people during the visit.

He said he was in an official visit to create a synergy between the two states for good cordial working relationship, as well, help to join hands together to build the country.

He said, Akwa Ibom State is his second home and promised to visit the state regularly in order to galvanize the relationship.

The Emir also disclosed that he would be interested in boasting the economy of Akwa Ibom State by ensuring that a business concern is developed in the state.

Speaking on behalf of other attendees during the visit, the Chairman of Ibibio Elders Forum, Dr Emmanuel Akpanobong thanked the Emir for the visit.

He assured that Akwa Ibom people will continue to stay in peace and love with the Northern brothers and other non indigenes in the state and prayed for peace in the country and a good lasting relationship between between the two states.

Similarly, the Chairman of the A.R.I.S.E. Ambassadors, Revd Richard Peters who led members of the group in solidarity to the visit congratulated the Oku Ibom Ibibio for hosting the flag bearer of the Emirate Council in his Royal Kingdom.

While describing the Oku Ibom Ibibio who is the Grand Patron of A.R.I.S.E. Ambassadors as man with a large, he sued for peace and total support to the Monarch so that he can link the state to the national lamplight.

The Emir had also paid visit to the Executive Governor of the State, Pastor Umo Eno traditional rulers in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor ( Political), Dr Godwin Ntukude, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, a frontline socio cultural group in the state, the Nsit People Union Worldwide,Elders, Women and Youths across the state were in attendance.
